Ginseng

COMPOSITION:

Panax Ginseng is a very complete plant. The Ginseng root is rich in amino acid (and particularly essential amino acid), many mineral elements: aluminum, arsenic, calcium, selenium, cobalt, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silica, zinc, but also several vitamins from Group B (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B9, B12), vitamin C and E, ginsenoside, triterpenoid and several other components rich for the organism. Ginsenoside plays an important role in the therapeutic effects of the plant because they will act on the adrenal glands and the quality of hormones produced. SIDE EFFECTS, CONTRA-INDICATIONS:

Do not use Ginseng in excess (risk for diarrhoea, sometimes hypertension…). Avoid uppers or stimulants in the same time. Reduce the dose upon excitation (raise them gradually). Avoid in case of heart condition because Ginseng might increase the risk of hypertension and heart palpitations (if taken in high dose or mix with other stimulants such as black coffee or black tea…). However, with the recommended doses Ginseng are no real side effects and paradoxically, remains a good plant to regulate blood pressure. Finally, careful with the combination of Ginseng with anticoagulant drugs.

DOSAGE, POSOLOGY:

The recommended dose is from 800mg to 2g of Ginseng per day, depending on your needs and its quality. Some Chinese herbalists even recommended 2g of Ginseng every day. Do not take Ginseng with other uppers or stimulants as black coffee or black tea.

However, Ginseng has an excellent synergy with Guarana (still avoid high doses).

Generally, it is recommended to take a cure of 3-4 weeks of Ginseng / 1 week of break / 3-4 weeks…but never use Ginseng more than 3 consecutive months without break.

Ginseng tends to increase the medicinal effects of other plants and modify or reduce the effects of chemical medicines, hence the very many contra-indications. Taken alone, without additives, the Ginseng root remains very safe.

COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The qualities of Ginseng vary greatly, one of the best on the market is Korean Red Ginseng (Panax Ginseng), issued from organic agriculture, but the most important is to have a root of ginseng rich in ginsenoside to obtain the powerful therapeutic effects. The white ginseng when it is dried (Ginseng is naturally white when it extracted from soil) and red when the root is treated with steam prior to drying.

A lot of food supplements add some stimulants to mask the weak effects from a bad quality ginseng. The real ginseng quickly brings the energy necessary to your day or in the next few days with great effects on the medium term/long term.

PURCHASE TIPS:

Ginsenoside greater than 15%.

Careful with the quality of the ginseng. It takes a long time for the root to accumulate all the benefits (minimum 6 to 7 years). However, a lot of Panax Ginseng present in the market are of poor quality, because too low in ginsenoside and active substances due to an immature picking.

ASSOCIATION WITH OTHER PLANTS:

Ginseng combines well with plants such as Maca and Tribulus (lack of sexual energy, libido, sexuality, endurance), Rhodiola (memory, concentration, nervous balance), Ashwahganha (restorative sleep, stress, libido) and royal jelly (fatigue, asthenia, vitality, immunity).

Excellent synergy of Ginseng with the famous Imperial Trio: Ginseng + Cordyceps (sexual energy, vitality, sport, endurance) + Ganoderma (vitality, increase QI, convalescence, long life elixir, helps to prevent cancers and diseases).

Very good association with Curcuma (health, general protector, helps to prevent cancer), garlic (arterial hypertension, cardiac problems) and with Guarana (lack of concentration, lucidity, need to be awake).
